need a Faucet installed or repaired?

Have a leaking bathroom faucet, kitchen faucet, tub or shower faucet that's in need of repair? Experiencing problems with water pressure or water regulator valves? Just want a new look for your faucet? We offer a wide range of repair and installation services to handle these needs.

Faucets Types

If you have a leaking faucet or just want to install a new faucet to give a room a new look, you have many choices. Faucets come in different shapes, sizes and finishes. Faucets types include the “center set” faucet which is basically 4” from the center of the hot handle to the center of the cold handle. There is also a “wide spread” faucet which is 8 to 12 inches from the center of the two handles. When installing a new faucet, you will want to check sink holes and get the correct measurements so you will have a faucet that fits. Faucets for bathrooms and kitchens can be a single handle faucet or a two-handle faucet.

Leak Detection

Check your faucets regularly for leaks. Even small leaks from your faucet can waste thousands of gallons of water and damage the mechanisms inside your faucet. Checking for leaks will help you save on your water bill and be environmentally friendly at the same time. When you check for leaks, check the faucet spout and underneath the sink. This will help prevent damage and mold issues. Check your aerators (the screen strainer at the end of the faucet spout) at the same time. Sometimes aerators can clog and cause water volume loss or an erratic spray from the spout.

Tub and Shower Valves

Single handle tub shower valves can have a tendency to only give you hot or cold water. This is an indication that the shower cartridge and / or the pressure balancing spool needs to be changed. A special tool is required for this and will normally need a professional installation. If your tub shower valve is dripping from the tub spout or showerhead, the seats and washers probably need to be replaced to stop the leak. A leaking shower valve from the “valve body” is not good because this means that it is leaking inside the shower wall. Symptoms of this can be moisture on the wall behind where the shower valve is installed. When these signs occur it is a good idea to call a plumber.

Shut Off Valves

There are other types of valves in your home; the most important are the shut off valves. The shut off valve is where you turn the water off at the fixture or even the whole house. A shut off valve for the hot and cold water supply for a faucet is located under the sink. The shut off valve for the toilet is located on the wall directly behind the toilet, usually on the left side. The water heater shut off valve is above the water heater where the cold water inlet is located. The shut off valve for the whole house is located in a few different places depending on when the house was built. The valve can be located in the garage, at the street main water supply (on the homeowner side of the meter), or on the water service to the house (the place where the water line comes up out of the ground and into the home, normally on the front exterior of the house).

Water Hammering

If you hear knocking or rattling in your pipes, this is an indication that there is a water hammering problem which can be fixed. The water hammering may mean that the pipes are loose inside the walls and can be corrected by strapping the pipes. The noise may also be an indication that the pressure in the home is too high. Calling a plumber to fix the problem before major damage is caused will be cost effective.
